Upland BIC Church

For close to 125 years, the Upland BIC Church has been doing God’s work here in Upland and around the world. For every one of those years, God’s work has been accomplished through the generous giving of God’s people.

 

What makes a generous giver?

 

Generous giving begins with realizing how much God has already given to us. 

 

The most well-known verse in the entire Bible begins with these words: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…” (John 3:16). Generous giving is our response to a generous God who gave his only son, Jesus, to die for our sins.

 

Generous giving is a result of our desire to partner with God in doing his work in our community and around the world. 

 

When we send missionaries, help people with food assistance, support our local homeless shelter, and help kids with their back-to-school supplies, we experience the joy of partnering with God and others in making our community and world a better place by helping our neighbors in need.

 

Generous giving happens when we realize that we can never out-give God. 

 

Generous giving develops our faith when we learn to trust God to care for all our needs. It allows God the space in our lives to prove that he will always provide us with more than we could ever hope or imagine. As the Bible says, “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, you will have all that you need” (2 Corinthians 9:8).

 

The generous giving of the people of Upland BIC Church over so many years never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for considering your part in giving in response to the goodness of God towards the work he is doing through Upland BIC Church.
